The Education and Skills Development programme of the HSRC, which manages the TIMSS study in South Africa, is involved in research in a number of areas of education, at both basic and higher education levels. Research in this programme focuses on a number of educational themes, including language and literacy, Mathematics and Science education, gender equality, the role of teachers, education and training for development and equitable access to education. This page provides a variety of publications related to an array of educational issues in South Africa.
