The data can be analysed using the downloadable IEA IDB Analyzer, an application developed by the IEA Data Processing and Research Center to facilitate the analysis of the TIMSS data. The database provides user guides, TIMSS item information, codebooks and almanacs, as well as curriculum data and Test Curriculum Matching Analysis data. The South African datasets can be downloaded in SAS or SPSS format, and are located in the zip folders ending in QAT-ZAF. The country code for South Africa is ZAF.
